The Wrangell Medical Center Foundation was established last year as a non-profit foundation. This enables the Wrangell Medical Center to raise funds, apply for grants, and accept financial gifts from donors. As Wrangell Medical Center CEO Noel Rea explains, the Foundation is having a healthy beginning and is ready to start giving back to the community.

Summer won't officially be over until September 22nd, but for the kids of Wrangell, summer has been over since the start of the new school year on September 3rd. Kelley Decker got some back to School Safety tips from Wrangell's Police Chief Doug McCloskey.

For almost ten years, Wrangell doctor Dave McCandless has been holding rural clinics in communities on Prince of Wales Island that don't have health providers and don't have easy access to them. It started when Point Baker and Port Protection asked Wrangell to send a visiting doctor. Since then, every six weeks throughout the entire year, Dr. McCandless visits the remote communities of Coffman Cove, Whale Pass, Naukati, Edna Bay, Point Baker, and Port Protection.
