After a year, Wrangell’s government backs out of 50-50 deal with state to fund local OCS position

Local government officials say they feel the community isn’t getting its fair share of the position’s time or resources.

The Polynesian voyaging canoe Hōkūle‘a traveled from Petersburg to Wrangell on Tuesday (June 27) as part of its journey through Southeast Alaska.

It’s more than double last year’s budget, mainly because of some major infrastructure projects set to happen in the coming year.
