Wrangell resident Clara Haley has been awarded a $5,000 individual artist project grant by the Rasmuson Foundation. The award will allow Haley the freedom to concentrate and develop her artistry as a traditional northwest coast cedar bark weaver.

Republican Gabrielle LeDoux represents Kodiak in the Alaska state legislature, and she's currently campaigning for Don Young's seat in the U.S. congress. In the past, she's spoken out on fisheries issues and benefits for Filipino vets, and she doesn't intend on stopping.

The senior center provides needed services, like rides and lunches, to Wrangell's population of residents age 60 and older. But in order to maintain the best services it can for seniors, the center needs help from the community.

Alaska Growth Capital has bid on the Wrangell Seafoods promissory note for $1 million. This was the city of Wrangell's second attempt at selling the note that is, at face value, worth $1.4 million.

In the midst of a possible four dam pool divestiture, the Wrangell city council wants to determine if Tyee Lake can be a stand-alone hydroelectric project.
