Shoemaker Power and Frequency 91.9

The electric power is now shut off at Shoemaker harbor for the harbor renovation project.
Due to no power available, KSTK’s translator that operates on 91.9 fm and broadcasts south of Wrangell will be shut down until the power is restored.

Precautionary Water Advisory Lifted

After reviewing the City of Wrangell’s recent sewer main break with EPA’s compliance division, Wrangell is not required to perform ambient water quality monitoring. EPA recognizes the high level of flushing that occurs in our wastewater discharge basin, as identified by the high effluent standards set for Wrangell’s primary wastewater treatment facility. The earlier-issued precautionary recreational water advisory has now been lifted.

Water Service Disruption

UPDATE Thursday, 4:30 p.m:
Public Works will be shutting down all water service throughout town effective immediately Thursday afternoon. It is anticipated that water service will be returned by late evening tonight, barring no further impairments to the system.

The City of Wrangell announces the Phase 1 Water Watch is now lifted. However, water conservation measures are encouraged. If dry weather occurs, it is very likely Wrangell will go back on Water Watch.
