Episode 54: Imagine visiting a tiny structure, filled with baked goods and instructions on how to pay through the honor system. That’s Wrangell’s Clearwater Baking. Calleigh Miller chatted with KSTK’s Colette Czarnecki about recently opening up her micro bakery. She started her sourdough journey in Jan. 2024 and it grew from there, when people requested her to make them baked goods. Miller said most of her treats are sourdough, like her jalapeno cheddar focaccia and cookies. But each week is never the same. People can preorder through her Facebook site, Clearwater Baking.

Talk on the Rock: Lucy Robinson on what’s going on this season at Parks and Rec

Episode 53: Wrangell’s Park and Rec Director Lucy Robinson chatted with KSTK’s News Director Colette Czarnecki about upcoming events. This includes a sprint triathlon and a playground revitalization planning presentation. Additionally, the recreation and community center will close beginning May 5 for repairs and administrative needs. Although the pool will be closed until August, Robinson said the fitness center will reopen late May.

Talk on the Rock: Olivia Strano updates us on the upcoming Milk Run Music Fest

Episode 52: One of Milk Run Music Fest’s organizers, Olivia Strano, visited KSTK to talk more with News Director Colette Czarnecki about how the plans for the festival are coming along. Strano said to expect live bands (Montana based North Fork Crossing and The Dead and Down), vendors, a comedian and open mic on May 2 (6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) and May 3 (noon – 8:30 p.m.) at City Dock, weather permitting. The bands will then play at Raymes Bar both nights at 9 p.m. The outdoor event will be moved to the Nolan Center in case of unfavorable weather.
