Episode 77: Author and missionary Sara Michalski spoke with KSTK’s Colette Czarnecki about some of her experiences with supernatural powers by way of her faith. While in town from Seattle area, she spoke at Touch Point Alaskan Ministries and Harbor Light for her book tour. Wrangell was her last stop. During the conversation, she spoke about being charged for smuggling Bibles in Russia for 10 years, but she said the judge let her go after 21 days in 1976.

Episode 76: Audrey Cotter and Scott Dickerson have been spending a lot of time in Wrangell’s boat yard over the past couple months. They bought the Alaskan Gypsy in Ketchikan and chose Wrangell’s Marine Service Center to fix it up. Cotter and Dickerson share their experiences with KSTK’s Colette Czarnecki on Wrangell, living on a boat and their future plans. They just put the Alaskan Gypsy back in the water and will motor away from the island community for a little while. They’ve been documenting their boat life experience on their YouTube channel, The Alaskan Gypsy Life.

Brooke Leslie, who is the Rural Economic Development Catalyst and Community Planner Val Massie talked with KSTK’s Colette Czarnecki about upcoming workshops and what else the organization does. They are part of the Southeast Sustainable Partnership, which is a collective that strengthens economic, cultural and ecological resilience.

Episode 74: The Salvation Army’s Captain Chase Tomberlin-Green talked with KSTK’s Colette Czarnecki about this season’s Annual Red Kettle Kickoff Fundraiser, Wrangell for Wrangell, the upcoming holidays and the local food bank. He mentioned that all donations will go towards launching and operating the new soup kitchen at the beginning of next year.

Episode 73: Wrangell’s Snow Goose Writer fellows talked with KSTK’s Colette Czarnecki (another Snow Goose fellow) about the program that began in March. Vivian Prescott organized the fellowship and seven fellows met monthly to learn and advance their writing. Fellows Bonnie Demerjian, Sandy Churchill, Cathy Gross and Jami Catterson, along with organizer Vivian Prescott attended this interview. Additionally, they shared some of their writing they worked on since the spring.
